SET FOR TEA AND HERBAL TEA

This elegant set consists of a ceramic teapot with wooden lid and handle and 4 cups. You can put the leaf tea or your favorite herbal tea directly into the infuser filter inside the teapot. The lid and the handle are made with eco-sustainable wood and give a touch of design to this everyday object, which can also become a piece of furniture in your living room. The teapot was born in Europe in the seventeenth century, with the spread of the drink, obtained by infusion from the leaves of the tea plant. The first examples are found in large cities on the coast, such as London and Amsterdam, where ships from India, loaded with goods, landed. The first European examples of teapots were made from cheap materials (earthenware, tin, brass) and the drink first spread among sailors. Around 1660 the infusion of tea leaves began to be appreciated also by the rich bourgeoisie; then tea became a very fashionable drink, especially in France and England. Skilled artisans produced silver teapots, with embossed and engraved decorations. Spouted Chinese porcelain jars were fitted with silver mounts and used to serve tea. The handles of the first silver teapots were covered with leather, so as not to burn when touched. Later, ivory or wooden separators were used, placed between the handle and its attachment to the silver body of the teapot, as was the knob on the lid of wood or ivory which, from a simple sphere, in the eighteenth century was gracefully transformed into a curl, or into a flower. Today most of the teapots are made of ceramic because it is inert or rather it does not memorize the aromas (at least at the beginning), it keeps the heat and they are found with the strangest shapes like the one here next to the trapezoidal shape.
